1. General Information About Liquidation Inventory

Wholesale liquidation merchandise may come from several different retail and supply-chain sources.

Depending on the individual product listing, pallets may contain combinations of:

2. Condition Grades

Wholesale Pallet Co. uses standardized condition grades to help customers understand the general condition of merchandise within each pallet or wholesale lot.

The grade shown on a listing describes the predominant overall condition of the merchandise.

Not every pallet will be available in every grade.

Always check the individual product listing to determine the applicable condition before purchasing.

Grade A — Brand New / Overstock

Grade A represents the highest general condition level within our liquidation inventory.

These products are typically new and unused merchandise originally intended for retail sale but removed from standard retail channels because of circumstances such as:

  • Excess inventory
  • Manufacturer overproduction
  • Cancelled retail orders
  • Store closures
  • Discontinued product lines
  • Seasonal inventory changes
  • Retailer overstock

Grade A products are generally unused and offer some of the best presentation and resale potential within liquidation inventory.

What you can generally expect from Grade A pallets:

  • Merchandise is unused.
  • Products are typically in new or near-new condition.
  • Original packaging is normally present.
  • Packaging may have minor warehouse or shelf wear.
  • Boxes may contain price stickers or small dents.
  • Accessories and components are generally present.
  • Products have not normally been used by an end consumer.

Minor packaging imperfections do not change the merchandise from Grade A where the underlying product remains unused.

Grade B — Shelf Pulls

Grade B merchandise generally consists of unused products that were previously displayed or stocked in retail stores but were removed from sale.

Shelf pulls can result from:

  • Seasonal changes
  • Retail store resets
  • Packaging redesigns
  • Planogram changes
  • SKU discontinuation
  • Clearance programs
  • Changes in product selection

The merchandise itself is normally unused, but the packaging may show more handling than Grade A inventory.

What you can generally expect from Grade B pallets:

  • Products are normally unused.
  • Items may have been displayed or handled in a retail environment.
  • Packaging may have dents, tears, or shelf wear.
  • Shrink wrap may be missing.
  • Retail stickers or clearance tags may remain.
  • Security sensor marks may be visible.
  • Products are generally intact.
  • Most accessories may be included, although this cannot be guaranteed for every item.

Shelf-pull inventory is often suitable for resellers seeking near-new merchandise without paying the higher cost associated with traditional retail inventory.

Grade C — Customer Returns

Grade C merchandise consists primarily of products previously purchased by retail customers and later returned to the retailer.

Customers return merchandise for many different reasons, including:

  • Change of mind
  • Wrong size

  • Duplicate purchases
  • Cosmetic damage
  • Minor defects
  • Delivery issues

Grade D — Mixed Returns / Mixed Condition

Grade D pallets contain merchandise from multiple condition levels.

A mixed-condition pallet may include combinations of:

Grade E is our salvage condition category.

Salvage products should not be assumed to be fully functional.
